Sunday, December 4th 9:00am-1:00pm: "Communication for Success: A healthy client-practitioner relationship" is an in-person continuing education course for Oregon licensed massage therapists. This 4-hour course fulfills the Oregon Massage Board's new requirement of 4 in-person credit hours of "professional ethics, boundaries or communication" topics. This course is being offered on two separate days; for the November course, please book through the proper link.
This course will focus on the topic of communication and its value to the career of massage therapy. Massage therapy can be a thriving and gratifying career, and the success of this often depends on the health of the relationship between client and practitioner. Specific topics will include communication styles, setting healthy boundaries through proper communication, and the importance of treatment plans. My goal in providing this course is not only to allow you fulfill your CE requirements for the Oregon Massage Board, but to provide you with a fun and inspiring review of valuable tips and techniques to build a healthy and prosperous relationship with your clients.

About the instructor:
Miranda is a licensed acupuncturist living and working in Grants Pass, Oregon. Communication is a subject that has proven its value to her over years of working in a diverse array of settings all around the world, often crossing cultural and language barriers simultaneously. Regardless of the location or setting of providing therapy, compassionate and genuine communication that holds healthy boundaries can lead to successful interactions between practitioner and patient/client. Miranda genuinely and humbly hopes to share some small bit of knowledge and experience in the area of communication that can provide you with a new set of tools, or at least a renewed sense of inspiration for and value of your work as a therapist.
