This lovely lady here is my soon-to-be mother-in-law, Cindy Kryzak. Cindy is a life coach and facilitator of The Work of Bryon Katie.

Radiant Family is happy to be welcoming Cindy into our space to do her counseling and coaching work. Cindy has been doing this coaching work both locally and via phone and Skype sessions for many years now.

The Work of Bryon Katie (aka The Work) is only one of the tools Cindy uses with her clients, but it is a notable tool for making lasting changes in how we live our lives.

Since all of our joys and sufferings, our ups and downs, really come from how we view the world around us, making subtle shifts in how we perceive things can have enormous effects on every aspect of our lives.

The Work requires questioning beliefs that we hold to be true. Doing a session of The Work is an incredible experience as you are guided to discover that what you have taken for granted as a truth really isn't, and are then able to see how it has been holding you back.

It really is an amazing experience to see the words coming out of your own mouth change in such a way. A simple series of questions can unravel everything you know to be true. Unsettling? Mind-blowing! And very, very helpful.

I personally find the fundamental principles of this counseling and coaching method to be extremely effective and applicable to all aspects of life. I also asked Cindy a few questions about what she does, so you can hear from the expert:

Miranda: So how did you get started doing life coaching and facilitating the Work of Byron Katie?

Cindy: Although, for decades, I have enjoyed working with students, parents and coworkers on surmounting life’s challenges, it wasn’t until I found myself sick in bed, unable to work, with severe fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome that I came to understand the need for taking a very close look at my stressful thinking. It was, thankfully, during this time that I discovered and began to practice The Work of Byron Katie. Not long after beginning my inner journey with The Work, I was able to take on a few normal routines and to find better ways of caring for myself.

When I met Byron Katie at a book signing event after recovering enough to travel short distances, she invited me to attend The School for The Work in Los Angeles, which I did in 2005. Several weeks later, I began working with clients and later began my business, A Lasting Life Healing, which I am still enjoying today.

Miranda: I think most people have never even considered having a life coach, but I know we all want some improvement in our lives in some way. How does what you do apply to the everyday, average person?

Cindy: The primary focus in life coaching is on creating strategies for changing your work and personal life. The assumption is, reliably, that individuals are capable of generating their own solutions, especially while being firmly supported in a positive, discovery-based setting.

The coaching process is specifically designed to reformulate your sense of purpose and direction – to closely examine what you’re thinking and believing….particularly questioning the stressful thoughts and feelings that tend to weigh you down emotionally and thwart your personal momentum.
Since coaching is forward moving and future-focused, the emphasis is on inquiry, action, accountability, and follow-through, which will foster personal and professional growth - all based on individually initiated change.

Life coaching will allow you to take care of all of the unfinished business in your life, letting peace and happiness naturally flow from that inner resolve.

Miranda: What is the one thing you enjoy most about the coaching you do?

Cindy: Without a doubt, one of the most enjoyable moments I experience when working with my clients is watching “the lights go on” in their eyes. It is an unmistakable moment when answers surface, tensions release, and new, revitalizing energy appears. It is something I am privileged to witness and share with them, and is the reason I so love what I do.

Miranda: I'm sure many of our readers have recognized a certain similarity between your name and Jason's.... How does it feel to be working in such close proximity with your son at the Radiant Family Natural Health Clinic?

Cindy: I am elated to be working at Radiant Family with Jason! It is pure joy for me to watch him continue to develop his passion and expertise for healing and pain relief with his clients…. Just knowing how much he loves what he is doing energizes and inspires me. And the additional bonus in all of this is getting to work with you as well, Miranda! I look forward to the commingling of both your talents for the benefit of those who come to Radiant Family for the deep, restorative healing that is available there.

Years ago I was seeing Jason for weekly massages and I thought life couldn't get much better. He then introduced me to Cindy and I started doing "The Work" with her. Cindy is absolutely amazing at what she does and her love is divine! I am so thankful to have met both Jason and Cindy, as they are both full of love and wonderful at what they do!
