No one can give us peace, we must find it in ourselves.
By investigating who and what we are, by dropping our story, and by seeking truth, we can find that peace that was always there.

Inner peace is not a state of being subject to outside influence.
It is not the duty of others to make us happy.
It is not the achievement of materials or situations that defines happiness.
Happiness comes from being content in who you are, who you truly are, which does not change moment to moment.
Your inner peace is unconditional.

Many of us are hindered from finding that peace due to outside circumstances like pain, debt, responsibility, difficult people, and so on. Alleviating physical pain, improving general health, and changing life situations to eliminate the presence of debt, stress and negative influences go a long way to allowing one to find peace. But peace is always available as a matter of perspective, in any moment; with the right tools and techniques, it can be found even when outside circumstances cannot be changed.

Many people find that fostering a relationship with God, like regularly going to church or support groups, is a great way to maintain perspective. Others seek a spiritual connection through retreat into nature, or through reading inspiring books, going to a meditation group, and so on. Some tools work well for one person, but not for everyone. These are the tools that work well for us, and that we offer in the clinic or here on our website:

Our favorite ways to help on a personal path to inner peace (aside from removing pain and improving general health) include:
Satsang--simple but powerful investigation into the nature of the true self. Jason can facilitate Satsang with his clients in a session, or you can click below on the other spiritual resources link to learn about other forms of Satsang we recommend. You can sample some talks by Jason here.
The Work of Byron Katie--self-inquiry work. Also simple, but incredibly powerful, this work strips away the stories we tell ourselves about "how things are" to uncover the simple truth beneath.
